The necessity to protect employee entitlements has been evident for some considerable time.  Each year more than 6,000 companies become insolvent and of these around 4,000 are placed in the hands of receivers and liquidators. 

Insolvency can be a devastating event for employers who may face financial ruin and very often a highly critical workforce - and media.   The Employees can lose entitlements they have worked for over many years.

EE Plus is community rated and operates immediately an insolvency practitioner is appointed. The policy is available via workplace agreements. 

Claims are usually paid after 30 days.

Employee entitlements are:

• Unpaid wages
• Accrued Annual Leave
• Accrued Long Service Leave
• Payment in Lieu of Notice
• Retrenchment (sometimes called ‘Redundancy Payment’)
• Superannuation Contributions

EE Plus protects workers against the loss of each and every one of the above entitlements.  In the case of superannuation, the maximum benefit is three months contributions.

How EE Plus works:

If an Insolvency Practitioner is appointed and you are retrenched, you may not receive the entitlements due to you under your contract of employment.  As explained above, EE Plus insures you against the loss of your employee entitlements.

The insolvency Practitioner will substantiate the claim on your behalf and your EE Plus claim payment will be made directly to you by the Insolvency Practitioner.

Payment can be expected within 30 days of a claim.
