Peter Grzonkowski 

Executive Chairman

From its inception, Peter served as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of IUS.  In March 2002 he became Group Executive Chairman.

Peter's career in the insurance industry spans more than thirty years. He began as a broker and underwriter for major companies such as QBE and Bain Dawes (Harvey Trinder), in the local and London markets.  In these roles he gained an in-depth knowledge of Australian and international insurance markets.

Recognition of this considerable experience led to his appointment as CEO and Director of leading financial services institutions including broking operations and underwriting agencies.

Peter is also a director of several private companies.

George Hodgson

Group Managing Director
 
George has some twenty years experience in the insurance industry as a senior manager.  Roles with leading insurers and major insurance brokers included Product Manager, Financial Institutions Development Manager and National Sales and Marketing Manager.

George built a significant reputation for his expertise in the highly specialised income protection area and for his success in marketing this and other insurance products to a wide range of institutions, trade unions and major local and multi-national corporations.

He enjoys particularly strong working relations with all levels of leadership of the Australian trades union movement.   

In 2001 he became responsible for business development as well as marketing, underwriting, training and claims. George was elected to the Board of International Underwriting Services Pty Limited in 2003.

In 2004, he was promoted to Deputy Group Managing Director of the IUS Group of companies and in 2006 became Group Managing Director.

Colin Pausey 

Deputy Group Managing Director

Colin Pausey succeeded George Hodgson as Deputy Group Managing Director in 2006. 

Colin is recognised as an insurance law expert with extensive experience as an insurance litigator and commercial lawyer. In addition to this expertise, he spent many years managing law firms. 

Since joining IUS in 2004, Colin has worked closely with George Hodgson and in that time has built significant rapport with clients who value his incisive, enthusiastic and supportive approach to business.

As Deputy Group Managing Director, Colin’s responsibility extends across the group and includes operational, business development and other key areas of management.   
    
Colin has played a major role in the growth of the IUS Group.

Hugh Ross 

Director

Hugh has many years experience as a manager in the insurance industry.  He began his career in the Marine Division of Carpenter Locke in 1975, and later became Assistant Marine Underwriter of Dominion Insurance.

Hugh was appointed Associate Director of Seaboard Underwriters and following the acquisition by Cargo & Marine of Seaboard, he took on the role as that company's Assistant State Manager.

He was later promoted to State Manager before joining MAG Underwriting Agents as a director and Marine Underwriter.

Over the years, Hugh has worked with Peter Grzonkowski in various capacities, and with Peter founded what subsequently became one of the largest underwriting agencies in Australia.

Hugh is now responsible for the Group's non-finance operations and its information technology services.
